Butler runners end 17-year drought vs. rival

Tornado get by North Allegheny

Noah Beveridge broke the Knoch cross country course record with a time of 15 minutes, 24 seconds to help the Butler boys down North Allegheny for the first time in 17 years, 27-29, Tuesday afternoon.

The previous course record with 16:15.

Dan McGoey of North Allegheny was second with a 16:10.

On the girls side, Clara Savchik of North Allegheny also set a course record with a time of 18:35. She broke the mark of 18:51.

Maggie Welty of Butler was second with a time of 19:00. Chelsey Kabel and Autumn Pettinato set personal-best times for the Tornado.
