Baxter beats No. 1 wrestler to aid Butler win

Unbeaten Cole Baxter scored a reversal with two seconds left in his 152-pound match, giving the Golden Tornado wrestlers (11-5) a 31-28 dual match victory over Hopewell Friday night.
Baxter's reversal produced a 2-1 decision over Matt Hundenski (28-1), the top-ranked wrestler in the WPIAL at that weight class.
"We didn't want Cole to match up with him, but there's a lot of strategy involved in close dual matches and we had to go after Hundenski to win it," Butler coach
Scott Stoner said.
"I know a lot of people treat wrestling as an individual sport, but I don't see it that way. I'm coaching a team."
Other key wins for the Tornado occurred at 130 pounds, where Cody Hartman scored a major decision over Cody Mutkas (19-7), at 135 where Dillon Weston decisioned Marco Crivelli (20-8), at 189 where
Chris White decisioned Mark Short (23-5) and at 215, where Marino Quercio pinned Bryan Cook (19-2).
Hopewell slipped to 13-4 in dual meets.
"They're very good,"Stoner said. "This is a big win for us."
Butler competes in the Sharon Duals Saturday.
