On Saturday, December 19, 2009, the Butler Wrestling Team traveled to Commodore Perry High School for a ten-team dual meet tournament. Butler finished as team runner-up a year ago at the tournament to eventual AA PIAA State Champion Reynolds High School. Butler dominated the ten-team field this year defeating Port Allegany 58-3, Laurel 77-3, Youngsville 69-6, Franklin 54-15, and Maplewood 60-15 in the final. Of the seventy individual matches wrestled in the tournament Butler won sixty and lost ten. Butler wrestlers going a perfect 5-0 on the day included Blake Caudill (Fr) with three pins, Nick Sutton (So), Cody Hartman (Jr) with four pins, Mike Crawford (Jr) with four pins, Matt Pribis (Jr) with one pin, Cole Baxter (Jr) with four pins, Mike Scialabba (Sr) with two pins, and Chris White (Sr) with three pins. Going 4-1 on the day were Brandon Bauer (So), Zach Reges (So), and Zach Collins (Fr). Finishing with 3 wins and 2 losses on the day were Eric Tuck (Jr) and Dakoda Collins (So).

Butler’s dual meet record now stands at 6-0 in non-section competition. The Golden Tornado will open their home match and section schedule this Wednesday, December 23, 2009 versus Hampton. The match will be held at the Butler Intermediate High School Gym. The match is slated to start at 7:00 with JV’s to start at 6:30.

Chili’s Dine and Donate Program-

Thanks to all those who came out on Thursday night to support the team at Chili’s Restaurant. Sales receipts for the night were approximately $1,300 which means 10% goes back to the booster organization!
