Blake Caudill (left)  scored two reversals after giving up the initial takedown.  His second reversal was with only seconds left in the match to give him the 4-2 win.  Caudill wins his first section title and his second trip to WPIALs.  Reges may have scored the most exciting win of the finals with a 22-12 “hip and elbow roll-a-palooza” major decision over #1 seed Pete Craig of Hampton.  This is Reges first section title and third trip to the WPIAL Championships.  Crawford appeared to have a match winning escape on with 1 second left but the referee did not award the point and it went to overtime where he quickly scored a takedown to win 2-0.  Baxter’s (below) decision was a 5-0 win over Jared Lux of North Allegheny who is currently ranked #3 in the WPIAL at 171 pounds.  Crawford and Baxter both set a program records by winning their 3rd Section 3 Championships and will make their 4th appearances at the WPIAL meet!  Crawford now has 118 career wins and Baxter has moved to 153 wins on his career!

A late entry at 135 pounds due to injury, Zach Collins recorded two wins to reach the final and lost by tech fall placing second.  This will be Zach’s first trip to the WPIAL meet.  Dakoda Collins entered the tournament as the first seed.  DC gave up the first takedown and never got things going and lost a 7-4 decision to Marco Crivelli of Hopewell.  Dakoda will make his second appearance at the WPIAL Tournament.  Senior 160 pounder Matt Pribis won his third place bout by injury default and will make his third appearance in the state qualifier.  Junior Jesse Spohn at 130 pounds won by fall for hi third place bout and will make his first appearance at WPIALs with freshmen 103 pounder Cody Houston.
